You were not here when there were no rune traders. People would jack prices up because you dunno what the things are worth.
And people like me who play only when there is free time cant be bothered to go spend massive amounts of time just to check prices every 10 minutes.

It would make sense to remove the dye trader. I believe that dyes shouldnt cost 75-6.5k for what purpose..? chaning the color of your armor? having dyes not npc regulated would mean that prices would go down for such a trivial item. The rune npc on the other hand is needed. It is important that the rune-trade is strictly regulated as it is a vital part of the game (unlike dyes which are ment to be pleasing to the eye and shouldn't cost much in the first place). Just my input on the situation. flame away.

--edit--
however I must add that for the removal of the dye trader to be possible, the merchant will have to raise the dye price (at least to 50g and not more than 200g).

--edit (again)--
It would also make sense that dye removers would be cheaper than the dyes itself. I mean..come on...thats just logical.

I love the dye traders. whenever u cant fid anyone who doesnt want to buy a black dye sell it to trader for 5.5k. i also like the rune traders because who would go around and say want to buy minor rune of strength when they could go to the rune trader.

What kind of question is this?

Free-market...might as well make a post about whether there should be an auction house or not. Rune traders and dye traders make everyone's life easier (except maybe the merchants who would make killings by selling Sup Vigors at over-inflated prices).

Would they? The NPC prices are 'regulated' based on supply and demand, anet isn't making up prices for these things. I thought the trader was introduced because players were selling dye for ridiculously high prices in the first place.

As a D2X veteran i can tell you that traders in GW are THE solution of getting rid of the "free market" that screwed up D2X. i still have small trauma's of the sellbots entering games and spamming their sellingsites ingame.

removing the traders will mean that black dye or Super rune will be a near impossible item to get for a reasonable price, unless you are willing to farm for it 24/7 and either find it yourself or pay an unrealistic price.

having a trade "mediator" like traders will give players a realistic value to base their price on when trading....
